Come join the oyster festivities Saturday and Sunday, June 29th-30th in downtown Freeport! This year we'll be serving steamers along with our oysters.

Heading south to York County! Spinney Creek Shellfish is a 3rd-generation, family owned company located in Eliot. You can see their oyster farm (and wave hello!) as you drive over the I-95 bridge into Maine. This summer marks their 9th year growing their own oysters. For more than 40 years, they have been depurating other oysters, quahogs, and steamers in their certified facility! Their floating farm is fairly unique among oyster farms -- Spinney Creek is an impounded body of water with a spillway to regulate partial tidal exchange. The result is a shallow, nutrient rich growing area that produces a fine oyster. All Spinney Creek oysters are finished in their depuration tanks and tested in their lab which means they have a pure, refined taste. Spinney Creek will be shucking on both days of the Festival and this year they also plan to offer their steamer clams too. Get all the details, pre order tasting tix, and reserve your festival merch at themaineoysterfestival.com

We are delighted by the recent flowers and sunshine! Furthermore, Suzanne has finished her school year and is now full time in Maine. We have a lot going on to welcome her back. We’re catering the sustainability event at the library this evening. Then, we host our favorite night of the month . .

Listen in or sing along to sailor songs of yore.

oysters are back! Our favorite local oysters are grown in Eliot and then treated to a purifying bath that removes grit and bacteria. Perfectly delicious and safe on the half shell but possibly better baked with parmesan.
