So did this homeowner’s.

The municipality’s job is to disinfect your water. In many areas, that’s done using chloramine. A combination of chlorine and ammonia designed to keep disinfectants active as water travels through miles of pipes before reaching your home.

This homeowner’s water tested positive for both chlorine and ammonia.

Fun fact: most of us were taught never to mix bleach and ammonia while cleaning because it creates toxic chloramine gases. In fact, if you accidentally mix them while cleaning a bathroom, it might be the last bathroom you clean. 😬

Yet many people never stop to think about the fact that chlorine and ammonia based disinfectants are present in the water they shower in, cook with, and drink every day.
