Chub bags or Vacuum sealing for burger and sausage!?!?

I’m partial to chub bags, here is some burger that I packaged in 2022. 4 years in a chub bag and no signs of freezer burn!

We also have a batch of deer sausage from 2021 that’s still tasting great.

Has anyone had a different experience with chub bags?

Growing up, did your family trim all the fat off pork?

We’ve noticed a lot of people are rediscovering that a little fat isn’t a bad thing—it adds flavor, keeps meat juicy, and makes for a better eating experience.

Our pigs are raised on pasture and fed a non-GMO, corn-free and soy-free ration that we grind ourselves right here on the farm.

We aren’t trying to raise the leanest pork possible.

We’re raising pork that tastes good.

Some folks even call our pork “the other red meat,” and when you see the marbling in a well-finished pork steak or chop, it’s easy to understand why.

A little rusty doing the first birds of the year, but the cut up birds got knocked out just the same.

These butterballs are about ripe for the pickin’. It always amazes me how fast they grow!

These birds spend their days out on pasture scratching, eating bugs, and enjoying the shade instead of packed into a barn.

We’re getting CLOSE.

This is what it’s all about! ♥️

Meatloaf & Mable have made their way back home…

And I just wanted to take the time to shout out Twisted Willow Farm.

They were absolutely fabulous to work with. From setting up the appointment, to taking in the cows, to handling my 101 questions, to their facility, to going over cut sheets with me, to affordability & pickup… they very clearly KNOW what they are doing and do it well. I felt like my hand was held through every part of this (emotional for me) process and we couldn’t be happier with what we got back.

We are excited to have our freezers full and I can’t wait to try out all the new cuts we got!
