Several years ago Rick and Mike Dittmar decided to start selling sweet corn and other produce at the local farmers market. In 2014 we have planted an orchard that has 4 different kinds of apples. Two years later we planted 700 more! We also farm about 100 acres of "regular farming" with field corn, and alfalfa. In the fall of 2014 we opened for U-pick pumpkins and had over 1300 visitors. We proudly sell, apples, pumpkins, raspberries, and sweet corn. The farm is located in scenic Jo Daviess County in Northwest Illinois around 10 miles from Galena. The farm has been in our family since 1854 and as you can tell by our photo albums, it is a big family affair. We hope to see you someday!

Another busy weekend wrapped up at Dittmar Farms & Orchard, and this stack of pumpkins is a pretty good reminder of just how much goes into this season! 🎃

Pumpkin season may only be here for a short time, but the work behind the scenes happens all year long. From planting and growing to harvesting, sorting, and getting everything ready for the farm, there’s a lot that goes into making fall at Dittmar Farms & Orchard so special.

We love seeing the pumpkins pile up and watching the farm come alive with everything that makes this season so much fun. Thank you to everyone who came out this weekend and made it another busy one!
