Check out some of the old milling equipment at the mill! A fanning mill was one of the earliest pieces of farming machinery. It was used to clean seeds and grain by cranking a handle which operated a fan to blow away the chaff.

I’d like to say a big thank you to the gentleman who helped me wrangle these three naughty goats who escaped through a most unlikely place in the fencing! Surely the grass isn’t that much better outside of the fence!! Hopefully all fixed now!

In honor of Indigenous People's Day I decided to do a bit of research into the original inhabitants of the area around Aberdeen Mills. To say it was a bit confusing is an understatement! The small amount of written history that was created and all of the seemingly conflicting information made this task even more difficult! We love the Winters Heritage House Museum!

The 33rd Annual Heritage Craft Show is only six weeks away! Is it on your calendar yet? It will coincide with some great downtown activities for Second Friday.
