Today marks 10 years since I officially launched Lazy H Equine.
Ten years. It’s honestly hard to believe.

For the last decade, I’ve had the privilege of selling anywhere from 20–60 horses a year. That’s hundreds of horses, countless miles, long days, late nights, phone calls, messages, vet appointments, breakdowns, test rides, paperwork, and more memories than I could ever put into one post. We are small but pride ourselves on quality.

But when I look back, the number of horses sold isn’t what means the most to me.
It’s the people I’ve met along the way. The friendships that started because of a horse. The customers who came back years later. The stories I’ve gotten to be a small part of. And most importantly, the horses.

Every horse that has come through Lazy H has had a purpose beyond simply being sold. My goal has always been to find the right fit and place each horse in a home where they can thrive and become a part of someone’s family.
I’ve watched horses change people’s lives, give kids confidence, give families something to enjoy together, and become lifelong partners. Being able to play even a small role in those stories is something I will never take for granted.

And I can’t talk about 10 years of Lazy H without talking about my husband, Kyle.
He has poured his heart and soul into this business right alongside me. He has done countless hours of farrier work, spent more nights than I can count out in the barn tending to horses with me, talked to clients, hauled, fixed, helped, and done whatever needed to be done to keep this business moving forward.
There have been so many times over the years when I physically couldn’t do something whether I was sick, injured, or pregnant and he simply stepped in. He has ridden horses for me, handled horses for me, taken care of things behind the scenes, and carried more of the workload than most people will ever know.

A lot of people see Lazy H Equine and see my name attached to it, but the truth is, there is an entire story behind that name. And a huge part of that story is him.
We have built this together.
There have been plenty of challenges over these 10 years. Horses that broke our hearts, deals that didn’t work out, setbacks, lessons learned, exhausting days, and nights when we wondered if we were completely crazy for doing this.

But there have also been some of the greatest memories of our lives.
I’m incredibly grateful for every person who has trusted me with a horse, bought a horse from us, consigned with us, referred someone to us, shared a post, recommended Lazy H, or simply followed along over the years.

10 years. Hundreds of horses. Countless memories. Lifelong friendships. A husband who has stood beside me through all of it. And a whole lot of horses finding their forever homes.

I’m proud of what Lazy H Equine has become, but even more grateful for the people and horses who made it what it is.
Here’s to the next chapter.
10 years down. Hopefully many, many more to go.

Pappy enjoying the cool of the evening here.

He will be available. 16/17 y/o grade gelding. 14H

This gelding here is the sweetest soul. So gentle. He hasn’t been rode in 8+ years at least maybe more. He rode off gentle and quiet without a care in the world. No warmup. No prep. Tightened his cinch and off he went.
He’s not fancy. More of a walk trot babysitter kinda guy.

As we head into August, we just want to say thank you to all of our clients, friends, and supporters who have stood by us this year. It was a slower season than usual, and we didn’t get to offer as many horses, but we are incredibly proud of every one we had the opportunity to represent.

Now our countdown is officially on as we prepare to meet our son. We’ll be taking a short break from offering horses so we can enjoy these last few weeks together, get everything ready, and step into the biggest chapter of our lives…parenthood.

Jellybean, Dutch, Levy, and Oakley all found wonderful homes, and we couldn’t be happier for them and their new owners. The Lord has been so faithful, continually placing amazing people in our path and putting these horses exactly where they were meant to be. We’re grateful for every friendship, every client, and every bit of support along the way.

Thank you for being part of our journey. We look forward to seeing you all again once I’ve recovered and we’re ready to get back to doing what we love.

With gratitude,

Kaitlyn & Kyle

This will most likely be the last horse we’ll be offering until after our son, Ryzer, makes his arrival. ❤️

I’m looking forward to taking some time to recover, adjust to becoming a mom, and soak up all of those little moments that everyone says go by way too fast. With only 4 weeks to go, the countdown is officially on!

Now, onto this cool dude…

12-year-old gelding | 15.1H | Size 1 foot

If you’re looking for a big, soggy, broke gelding, here he is. He’s 100% ranch horse that’s also been started in the arena.

Need a head horse? Looking for a pickup horse? Maybe your next dependable ranch partner? Or just a trail blazer?

You decide.

If you’re searching for the kind of horse that’s hard to replace, Levy deserves your attention.

Dreamboat. Lover boy. Mr. Consistent. Those are just a few of the names we’ve given him over the years. I could write a novel about this horse, but I’ll spare you—though he certainly deserves one.

Levy has been part of our family for quite some time, and throughout the years he has proven himself to be dependable, honest, and incredibly enjoyable to be around. Whether it’s the coldest winter morning or the busiest day at the barn, he shows up with the same willing attitude every single time. He has an unmatched personality, always wanting to be involved in whatever you’re doing and convinced that every chore requires his supervision. He genuinely enjoys people and loves being someone’s partner.

He stands tied quietly, loads and hauls with no fuss, and is excellent for the farrier. He is currently barefoot with strong, healthy feet but has previously worn ¼” sliders.

Levy received professional reining training with Latimer Performance Horses and has an excellent foundation. He spins, sidepasses, slides to a stop, carries himself low-headed, and is consistently improving his lead changes. He’s an exceptionally intelligent horse that learns quickly and truly enjoys having a job.

He has also been lightly shown in Ranch Riding and Ranch Trail and has all the ingredients to make a very nice Versatility Ranch Horse. His quiet mind and forgiving nature make him suitable for a novice rider with guidance, while still offering plenty of ability for someone wanting to continue advancing his training. He has been started on the flag and has also been roped off of, making him a well-rounded and versatile partner.

Outside the arena, Levy is every bit as dependable. He confidently cruises down the trail on a loose rein, unfazed by wildlife, traffic, bicycles, dogs, or anything else you may come across. He crosses water, logs, ditches, and rough terrain willingly without hesitation. He’s never in a hurry, isn’t buddy sour or barn sour, and is just as enjoyable outside the arena as he is inside it.

Whether your goal is to step into the show pen, spend weekends exploring trails, or simply own an exceptional horse to enjoy for years to come, I cannot recommend Levy highly enough.

Levy is AQHA registered 6 y/o, stands 14.3 hands, and current X-rays are on file. He has clean legs, clear eyes with no blemishes or spots, and is fully insured so your investment is protected. We stand behind him 100%

Quality horses are hard to find. Levy is the kind that leaves a lasting impression.

Pasture clothes, no bath, no brush, and somehow he's still absolutely stunning.

He's the best little supervisor, making sure every job gets done just right. I'd say he's pretty good at his position.

Tomorrow's the day!

legacy horse sales cowboy Christmas kicks off at 7:00 PM, and this handsome guy will be looking for his next home.

Because let's be honest... who doesn't want a good-looking supervisor following them around, making sure they're doing everything right?

Khaki
16-Year-Old Gelding • 14.3 HH
Elk City, Oklahoma

If you’re looking for a dependable, no-drama gelding that enjoys having a job and loves his people, Khaki is one you’ll want to meet.

Khaki has been ridden extensively outside and has seen just about everything. He’s the same calm, steady horse every time you saddle him. No buck, no rear, no silly behavior just an honest horse that’s ready to go to work or hit the trail.

He’s been used to:

* Drag calves
* Pick up at rodeos
* Trail ride countless miles
* Carry the American flag
* Move broodmares
* Pony colts

In the arena, Khaki will lope nice circles, has a smooth trot and lope, neck reins well, and has a good stop. He’s simply a pleasant horse to ride.

Khaki is Mexican bred, so he does have the typical quicker Mexican horse walk. He naturally covers ground at a faster pace than some horses, but he is not a runaway or hard to handle.

He isn’t buddy sour or barn sour, stands well for the farrier, has always been barefoot, is an easy keeper on grass and alfalfa, and is the low horse in the pecking order. He handles time off without any issues and rides off just like he should.
