We are set up on post today for a craft fair!

I did what I always do every morning… I slowly walked myself down the stairs, one eye open, hair everywhere, hoping I don’t miss a step and fall on my face, to let the dogs outside. That’s when I discovered Wilbur in the front yard eating acorns. Wilbur is a thousand pound boar who will bend fences in half every fall to get himself his second favorite treat: acorns (squash being the first favorite).

He is trained to walk with me as I use a stick to guide him where I want him to go. I raised him from an 8 week old piglet and trained him because of this very scenerio.

Grouchy Gulch Farm will be at the PX on the Fort Saturday the 17th and also at the craft fair in Licking on the 24th. Come see us. We will have tons of goat milk soaps, lotion, holiday decor, and much more for sale!

Our beloved livestock guardian dog, Artimus, passed away sometime in the night. She was such a great dog. I don’t really have pictures of her as an adult because she was always working. Her brother, Apollo, is usually laying around because Artimus already did the work.

Her body is being laid to rest by the pond so she can go back to the land she loved and protected.
