It's that time of the year again! We are thrilled to announce that our turkey program has had an exceptional year. As a result, we are now opening our reservations to the public. To secure your turkey for the season, please complete the reservation process via the link below. A non-refundable $25 reserve fee is required, which will be deducted from the final price of your turkey on pickup day, November 21st, at either the Abingdon Farmers Market or our farm store.

Engaging in a conversation this morning about commercial standards versus small unregulated raw milk providers, and it brought up a situation we ran across quite a few years ago that I thought would be worth re-sharing. Regardless where you get your milk from (although we would love to be your farmer), it is imperative you get to know your farmer and see how your milk is being procured. 

Back in 2015, My family and I started our farm business Goshen Homestead. We were already producing pasture raised poultry and free ranged eggs, and were implementing a herdshare program in Southwest Virginia as our launching product. For the 8 years prior to that, we had been milking our own jersey...

Our predator problems have grown pretty bad over the last few years. One of the blessings that has come our way has been Hunter Short, who offers the service of tending to the coyote populations for farmers that will allow him to come hunt them on their property. It’s a win-win for us. Not only does he regularly stop out to hunt for coyotes, but we get these really cool videos afterwards. If your local and got a lot of coyotes running your property at night spooking the animals, or worse, reach out. He is extremely gracious to the opportunity and has all the right toys for the mission.

Composted fertilizer-$40 a bucket load!

After 75 bucket loads transferred to our garden, we have a few bucket loads left we can sell. This is collected from our dairy, beef and poultry manure, and has been aging since the end of 2024. Chemical, pharmaceutical and gmo free. Available until 6/20 when we will start mixing fresh manure back in, or until it’s gone.

It’s a hay week, so we will not be at Market this weekend. Here you will find all the places that carry our milk product so you can still get what you need.
