Here is some helpful information if you would like to use my services and my slaughter butchers. Kountry Meats as well as all of my slaughter butchers are extremely busy this year. This info will help things go as smoothly as possible. Please call the slaughter butcher directly ASAP to make an appointment they are given a schedule by us of when they can bring in animals to avoid the larger fair deliveries. We process for 7 fairs that start in early May until the end of July. Here are some tips that will help with the slaughter.
*If you can get multiple animals at 1 stop that will help the butchers greatly.
*Don’t double book with different butchers, it waste appointment spots (hint some slaughter butchers will put you on the never to call back list). Yes it’s that big of a problem for them.
*Be flexible if they need to change dates, sometimes we ask them to move animals around to get more processed as we find out information from fairs.
*Be patient, they can’t always call you back the same day.....they are now scheduling everything into June, so it’s not necessary for them to call back that same day.
*When you call leave them your name, address, animal species, total number of animals, and which butcher shop you would like them delivered to.
*Don’t cancel your appointment, you may not get another in a timely manor
*They are fastest when they are left alone to do their job, helping them normally takes longer.
*Have the animal in a small pen, and a water hose attached and close by for them to use.
*Most slaughter butchers start their day before day break, they are starting early to avoid the heat and get more done in a day. Be willing to schedule early AM. You don’t have to be there at the time of the kill. A note left on the pen with payment will work just fine.
There are many shops overwhelmed this year and are scheduling into September already, it’s so bad we are now receiving phone calls as far away as Chico and Livermore. We are doing our best and working long days to get everyone’s animal processed as quickly as possible. We are currently scheduling into June. After your animal has been delivered to our shop please go online and do your cutting instruction at kountrymeats.com. There is more info on my website. If you would like a different cutting instruction than what is offered, call us and we’ll do the instructions over then phone. Also please pick up your animal asap. We temporarily put a storage fee on all animals this year. If you pick up your animal within 7 days of completion phone call we will waive the storage fee. There is no need to call us a tell us that you are having an animal slaughtered, just call the slaughter butchers.
