Murphy's Menagerie & Market We're a small farm in rural Taylor County, Kentucky.

We have Draft Horses, Icelandic Chickens, Bantam Cochins, Silkies, Ancona, Cayuga & Call Ducks, Button & Corturnix Quail and Sebastopol Geese as well as produce gardens in season.

It's a fact! Our followers here on the page DO get a little priority when it comes to limited items. Fair is fair and those supporting us on the daily deserve a perk or two.

While we make absolutely ZERO dollars maintaining the page, we do enjoy sharing our shenanigans, showing off our critters and connecting with lots of people we don't get to physically see every day! 👉Yeah, I wouldn't share our tax info with meta so zero dollars for us 🤣🤣 But that's A OK by us!

Right now- everything seems limited but some of my favorite items include: Rainbow eggs, Teenie We**ie juveniles, older birds hatched from Olive eggs under blue egg rooster, juvenile Icelandic pairs and chicken saddles!!

Don't Forget! Especially if you're closer to Hodgenville than coming to us-- We'll be at the Feather Fair Swap THIS SUNDAY!

We have lots of birds, a few eggs and a handful of chicken saddles...

If you see anything on our pinned post for the Lawrenceburg Swap- you're welcome to message us to preorder for pickup Sunday at Feather Fair.

We operate on a First Come First Served basis as it's just no fun waiting on people who don't show up or follow through... But, we DO hold items for our regular, repeat customers and will continue to do so unless problems arise. We appreciate all of you for sticking with us and showing your support through the early and Spring hatching season! Now that we're slowing down, birds may be a little scarce, but we'll always work out personalized hatches for folks from our stock and continue helping folks connect with birds we don't offer.

Another fresh hatch of ducklings!!

Lots of Cayuga this time 🥰 Just a few Ancona.

As long as these kidz are eating good, drinking and waddling around healthy- they'll be ready for pickup this weekend!

🖤 All these Cayuga were hatched from our very best ducks. Chosen for not just dark egg color, but also for traits of their parents-hoping for that standard of perfection. This in no way means every single duckling will be show quality. It just means that the genetics are behind them so hopefully several grow out as nice as their parents (or better!) 🖤

Mannnnn.... I just took this pic with my phone in the kitchen. The lighting just doesn't do them justice. This basket of eggs is making me real sick over rehoming all my color layers months ago. It'll take some more time and birds, but I'm getting there! I might need an intervention to keep these out of the incubator 😅

I've agreed to finish up the hatches in the cabinet incubators so we can shut down, deep clean and relocate them in order to get some updates done inside our house. I'd protest, but it's shut down temporarily and get a bigger kitchen or keep on hatching and continue baking biscuits in a kitchen not even big enough to whip a cat. So. Break time is coming 🤣 I do have some tabletop incubators, tho 🤔

We're not incubating any more this season. We let the ducks out of their pens this week, so some ducklings could be mixed- others could be full black, white, silver or pastel.

We've stopped labeling eggs as hatching season winds down. But our birds are still in their breeding pens. So, we'll have mixed dozens of full size chicken eggs and mixed dozens of Bantam eggs. They'll all be going as "EAT OR HATCH" so will ONLY be 💲5️⃣ dozen

🦆Duck Eggs aren't labeled, either. Dozens may include all Cayuga or could be both Cayuga & Ancona. These will be 💲🔟 per dozen.

🦆Call Duck eggs, too! These are 💲4️⃣0️⃣ per dozen- We've had good hatches but no lies- they require some attention around day 24 until hatch. They're just finicky from the start! But, once you've hatched call ducks- you'll be ready to hatch about anything.

This guy is looking for a new group of ladies. He's not aggressive with people and is very attentive and sweet with his hens, finding them tasty bugs and always showing them snax and alerting them to all his interesting finds while foraging.

🐓 He'll make someone a nice, dapper fella. He's given us plenty of nice, big chicks and has served his time here very well. If you're interested in this good boy, let us know!
