Brad made loafing beds for the girls today! Adding to the inside of the barn to make it more comfy for the ladies. They still prefer the metal roof outside from their old shelter that was blown down. However that has to eventually come out. Especially with the lightning storms we've been getting. I wanted to see the girls on them, so Ari and I coaxed them up with timothy hay pellets. It really didn't take Brad that long to make either. The downside was it was raining while he built them.
The last picture is the boys in the garden. They were too well fed before they were allowed into there. They didn't put a dent into the grass and weeds. I spent a couple hours cutting grass by hand today before the rain started. It was quiet and productive feeling.

I love how goats will take opportunities when available. We need to build loafing beds. These girls love being on top of the old roof to the shelter that was blown down. And I love that for them. But the has to come out eventually.
And the garden....yikes. I got part of it done. But was super tired yesterday so took a nap. I need a weedwhacker. We grow the weeds like pro's!

Jackson. He is a solid boy. I was reminiscing a little with him...
I remember when he was born. He literally hit the ground then stood up. No joke. Muscles at birth. His mom is sweet to humans, and a great milker.
And the cats.... well, this picture with them is unique. The cat in the middle is Sasha and he is super shy. He never lets me cone up and pet him. That picture taken two days ago and Sasha jumped up on the swing to cuddle with me. First I have never seen him on the swing. And he doesn't get along with Trigger (orange cat) or vice versa. Then Thing jumped up and cuddled. I think Trigger was only nice because I was there. These are the moments of slowing down and being in the moment that I enjoy the most.

Angel chopped her rhubarb plant down. She was quite surprised that it was this big. The other plant isn't as big but it's one stalk is the same height as her. My hanging basket of flowers are doing well. I finally hung them up on the porch! And Angel also noticed how busy the bees were.

Working 2 jobs. Track is getting closer to the end of the season. And I'm always sad that another season flew by, yet again. Its also a reminder that we have seniors graduating soon. And with school almost over the summer awaits me! I got home....tired and I had to go see my girls. Brad bought them new hay and they were very happy with fat bellies. They just wanted to be near me and get scratches. Even Shasta Daisey who likes her space was wanting to be near me more. All of them. I enjoy that time with them. I needed it. I love seeing their shine come back from winter. Winter and Spring has been rough for us. So seeing these ladies happy was good for me. I said a prayer of thanks and guidance over their care. I am blessed to live this life and have the support to enjoy it.

Today was productive. Went to church, and shopping. Brad bought me a drink for my gut. Tomorrow will be my last day of taking antibiotics for whatever I had. But my poor gut needs some love to bounce back. I still have a cough, but it's not as aggressive and I'm still stuffed up but no fever in a week. I'll take that. When we got home I enjoyed taking the girls to the back part of the property where we fenced off a section so they can browse. They're slowly getting their shine back. Brad and I put in a variety of minerals to chose from alongside baking soda. I eventually want to invest in a better selection. Then to end the evening outside Brad and I went to the greenhouse to check on my plants. We were checking things out and had a discussion about needing to repot my herbs that they bought me for Mother's Day. I decided that I don't trust that they'll get watered out in the herb garden, so Brad mixed some potting soil and worm castings into big containers. While we moved some things around Brad found worms. And then we spent some time digging for worms.

FYI: A new adventure awaits us and it is actively being added to our farm. Brad put together a very detailed business plan together. And I find it really interesting that it is around gardening, as Brad and I met in HS in horticulture class. And this new business that is becoming part of our farm utilizes the most valuable asset on our farm. My goats and their p**p. 🤣 And specifically their breed (more on that later). Brad has invested in Red Wigglers. He built them a box, added compost layers, and will be adding to that space for a total 48ft. He ordered a lot. 5k, a lot. He ordered so much that they gave him 100 European Earthworms for free. Someday soon Brad will be offering worm castings, and teas. This year he is going to focus mainly on teas. Until his colony establishes. Then next year castings for gardens. So now when we see worms we see them on a new level. 🧐🫣😎 So if you see more stuff on the Worm Dude...you'll see some more updates here...as he has a couple years planned out in detail. He even put together a Winter Survival Guide plan.

This Italian Parsley is doing well in the greenhouse. This is it's 2nd year. I had to clean it up a bit this spring and take out the dead parts. But we literally forgot about it a winter. I harvest some here and there to add to some meals. Its been kind of awesome!

Mother's Day weekend is usually a garden prepping weekend! I feel like we got a good start already. Brad redid my corn rows and added three more rows with the space we have. Super excited to see where this takes us. Food in the future! 🐞🌻
