Whitepine-flats farms This farm is owned and operated by James and Jacob Cummins as a multi-generational farm, currently supporting 4 generations of the Cummins Family.

Whitepine-Flats has been in operation since 1964, experiencing many ups and downs. The farm was a well-known dairy milking over 100 cows, until a tragic fire burned the barn down in May of 1997. James made the decision to sell the dairy cows and start what is now the farms beef herd. Whitepine-flats runs its own herd of beef cows and also custom feeds cattle for people over the winter. The farm pu

ts up over 1800 tons of hay and silage a year, which is sold to loyal customers and used to feed the beef cows. While selling and making hay is the farm's top priority and our backbone, locker beef, locker pork, and custom feeding cattle all play a vital role. The loss of the dairy was the lowest point for the farm but it's now on a steady climb up to place itself back on the map as one of the top farms in the greater Spokane area.

By far the most exciting class from yesterdays show was the 2 year old heifer class. Lots of really good looking cows and Jayce placed 1st with Daisy and Dakota placed 3rd with Anna. Jayce came back in for overall heifer where he also placed first and got to come back in the ring for overall dairy cow in the barn, where his bombshell of a Daisy won! Dakota won her class for fitting and showing with Anna and got to come back in the ring for overall fitting and showing, where she got a judges choice award for being so young and able to handle such a big cow. Jayce unfortunately didn't do well in fitting and showing but learned some good lessons that will make him an even better showman and he easly made up for his short comings by winning it big with top dairy cow in the barn. Im super proud of my kids with how they've been doing this show season and sometimes its not all about winning. Its about learning life lessons in the show ring and growing, not only by yourself, but with your show cows. What alot of people dont understand is that these cows are more than just cows, they part of the family and so very much loved by the kids and by us. Farm on!!!! 😎

Big news yet again!!! Thanks to my awesome wife Danae Cummins, we are now selling milk at Riverside Harvest Foods!!! When it comes to the dairy, Danae is in charge of marketing and selling milk and has been killing it! Equally as awesome, we are also selling milk at Bushels in diamond lake!!! So thats 4 locations in total you can get Whitepine-flats Dairy milk! Our on farm store, Miller's One Stop, Riverside harvest foods, and Bushels! I can honestly say, I couldn't farm at the scale we are at AND run the dairy without both my dad, and my amazing, hard working, bombshell of a wife. Farm on!!!! 😎
