Coldest day in several years here at our farm in southeast Wisconsin. Although we don’t have a milking herd here anymore we have dairy heifers and calves owned by us and 2 other farmers here. So far so good. And a huge thank you to our friends for their daily care of our milk cows at their farms.

Back home from Walworth County Fair for another year. Received second places with this spring calf (pictured) and a fall calf. I was excited to see my neighbor kid Ruhn Bobbe have a outstanding first year in the junior & open shows! After showing in little britches with my heifers for the last two years he started his junior career this year with 3 heifers that all placed first with the Spring calf winning overall supreme heifer! And he went on to win all firsts and junior champion with his fall calf in the open show. I’m always happy and proud to see someone learning more and becoming more successful year after year! Way to go Ruhn.

As a breeder I’ve always had certain cow families in my sights to buy into & breed off & I am excited to say I now have a descendant of Avonlea’s K family. Fresh off the truck from Canada is Avonlea Bontino Keep Company. KC is a December 30, 2020 calf sired by Carinbrae Bontino.
