This girl is one of are barn favorites. She is calm an well tempered. She is clean fronted long necked long bodied. An carried enough femininess with just enough muscle. All around she’s got the parts! She will be the great addition to your show string for your younger showman to have a competive heifer.
Well this steer is liking the show calf life. Day 2 and he’s already too lazy to stand up to eat. I’d definitely say this is a good sign for the Junior that ends up buying him.
First day of summer break means washing all the calves. 7 in today and a bunch more joining them tomorrow. We have Hereford, Maintainer, Chi and Simmental calves for sale off the farm. Many that are already broke to tie and ready for aomwone to take them to their next show.
We love hearing from our customers. This steer is a Churchill Surebet son out of a Times Up daughter we sold to the Ekhoff family several years ago. This last weekend she took this guy and won Reserve Bred and Owned steer at the Nebraska state show. What an accomplishment for her!
Brailee Ehlen and Wiswell Farms had a great weekend! Brailee and Ace kept their streak going, and were Champion Hereford both days. And our January calf made her first show appearance, already getting the reserve division status. Now on to Wisconsin State Fair!
Last weekend, this girl finally got the handshake she'd been seeking. Not only did Brailee Ehlene and Ace come away with champion Hereford, but they also got the 4th overall market animal banner. So proud of this pair, and can't wait for even more fun this summer with them.
It makes us so happy to finally see the planter in the field. It’s been a crazy spring and having some corn in the ground definately feels good.

We always love it when calves are in the barn. Mama cows aren’t too thrilled with us but they’ll be back out soon. It’s always soo much easier to start breaking them when they’re younger and smaller. Now wel just have the tough task of choosing which ones we want to show. The others will be for sale as show broke calves any time after they’re weaned. And Hereford Jr Nationals is in Madison next year. So if you’re local and looking for a good calf that will make a competitive yearling there come on over for a farm visit.

A full show barn makes us happy! Getting calves ready for Boo Bash next weekend. Make sure to reach out if you’re looking for a quality show steer at a reasonable price. We have 3 broke and ready to find their new showman. And many more to come into the barn soon.
These two are looking for a new home. Both are Maintainers. We’ve been tying them up for a couple weeks and gave them their first bathes today. They did great! And lots of long hair to work with. Let us know if you’d like to come see these and all the other potential show calves we have around.
They’re never happy on that first day. But give it a week and I predict she’ll realize how good the show heifer life is.

This little girl with her little water bucket for her little steer is the absolute cutest thing ever. Hadley and Storm Trooper are getting more and more ready for P*e Wee showmanship on September 5th at the Walworth County Fair. Come visit them in the open beef barn any day!
Kaiden loves his tractor rides with daddy. Bedding the cows today. When we don’t get rain to help the pastures grow we have to keep them in the cow yard, and use so much extra bedding. But Kaiden will take a tractor ride whenever he can.
You know it’s summer break when you hear the fans going in the show barn! Gotta love that first day on the halter when they fight it so hard. Pretty soon he’ll realize the cushy life he’ll have as a show bull and be waiting to come in the barn in the morning.
Hadley started playing with Storm Trooper today. I think he’s gonna be a fun little project for her. We even did a couple laps around the pen with him. Cant wait for summer!
Not only is storm trooper kid broke but he’s also baby broke. Such a lover. Hadley jumps right in the pen with him whenever we do his bottle. Anyone who is looking for a steer for a first year kid this one right here is your guy. And he’s good looking enough to hold his own in the ring as well.
Is it even spring break if you’re show heifers aren’t tied up. Around our farm that’s when the worn for the show season starts. We aren’t typically able to go to preview shows but we like getting a start on the big heifers. Won’t be too long until a few calves join them.
I can’t wait to see what these boys look like this summer. They’re both maintainers and will be looking for a Junior to hold the other end of the halter for them. They both have great show hair that will be lots of fun to work.

With these two on the ground, calving has officially started. Lots of 3/8 simi and maintainers coming this year.
Finally got the fence around the corn field done. So happy to see the cows out on stalks at the home farm. They’re gonna be a happy herd for the next several months with I’ll that extra space.
Letting calves out tonight and I think this guy was mad at me for not bringing him in today. Only so many spots in the barn so they all have to take turns. He’ll be in tomorrow so he’ll be much happier. Let us know if you need a super sweet bull that’s halter broke for your herd.
Started working on the next couple heifers today. We have a hereford, maintainer and commercial tied up today. These girls would be great options for someone who wants to start working with a calf young and have it puppy dog broke for next summer.
Had the best little crew during preg checks this morning. They’re both so good while we work cows.

Don’t mind the mud!! It never stops raining! Anyone out there looking for a cool, sound and colored up steer? This guy is an April Crossbred calf. He’s out of a Solid Gold daughter and a hereford bull. His dams daughter last year is pictured in the comments. He’ll make someone a great project. $1500 takes him.
Who needs a bull? This purebred Hereford is show broke and ready for his new home. He is a January calf out of Full Throttle and a Revolution daughter. Asking 3000 OBO.
