We want to send out a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came by and supported our little hunnies at the Six Arrows Farmers Market today!

We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful community standing behind us and helping our young entrepreneurs reach their goals. Our two little gals are already planning and plotting how to get even more folks involved to help them grow and expand their chicken gourd business. 🤗

Who knows—you too may one day be a gourd grower for the Howard Hunnies!😆
Thank you all again for making today so special!

A huge thank you to all of our amazing customers! 🥛🐮
Thank you so much for being so understanding when we had to pause milking this morning to chase these ornery critters all over the countryside. Y'all really are the absolute best, and we are so incredibly grateful for each and every one of you!

Milk, milk, and more milk! 🥛🐄

We are always in some form of rotation around the here. 😉
It is time for Mistletoe and Clover to take a well-deserved couple months off. But never fear—the other 5 girls will still be pumping out that delicious moo juice! 🥛✨

Fingers 🤞 one of these lovley gals will give me a little heifer this year.

Y’all, today was a first for me—and probably for one of my dear customers, who I’m pretty sure I scared half to death. I am so very thankful he answered my calls for help!

Ya see I climbed into the barn loft to look for an old craft box buried way in the back. While crawling back out through the narrow path, trying not to knock over the excellently stacked decades of junk, I somehow managed to knock over my ladder.😳

Now there was only one way up and down—and unless you’re a monkey, that wasn’t happening. And I am definitely not a monkey.

So there I sat, trapped and cooking in that tin box for about an hour,🥵 waiting for someone to notice I was missing. Of course, everyone on the farm was busy doing farmy things and had no idea I had slipped off to the barn.

Being the problem-solver I am, I started getting creative. I considered taking apart the saddle hanging beside me and making a lasso, but since I couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn, I quickly decided that probably wasn’t going to work.

My next brilliant idea was to trust those old leather mule reins, wrap them around the rafters, and somehow swing myself to the ground. And let me just say… there would have been absolutely nothing graceful about that!

Thankfully, music to my ears, I finally heard gravel crunching on the drive and hollered out for help.

What did we learn today? Cell phones don’t work in the barn, always tell someone where you’re going, and maybe—just maybe—I should keep a spare ladder in the loft. 🤔

Well y'all, the turkey dating post was a success! Well... kinda.
Everybody, please welcome Big Berta Birdi to the farm!
Unfortunately, Thomas is a little apprehensive about this whole arrangement. Y'all I think he secretly identifies as a chicken.
Birdi is doing her best, and i feel like she will win him over eventually.
Thomas on the other hand is still trying to crow at sunrise and pretend he belongs in the hen house.
We are hoping some sweet turkey talk, an 11 lb bag of meal worms and a stern talkin'-to courtesy of Thomas's dad will melt his stubborn little heart. Give it time, folks
Stay tuned for updates on this feathered soap opera! 🦃🦃
