The shelter is always in need of:

Paper towel
Bleach
canned dog food
chewy treats - to keep them busy. :-)

* CANCELATION ALERT *
WE NEED THIS FILLED
We had a cancellation for tomorrow Wed, June 23rd for cat transport to Vassar Vet for spay/neuter appointment. This is a BAD AXE meeting location but can also meet along the way.
The price is $65.00 for males and $75.00 for females. Will be meeting in BAD AXE in the morning at 7:15am. We will transport the cat to Vassar for spay/neuter and then bring the cats back the same day. Cats will need to be picked up from the same location at approx. 3:30pm in Bad Axe. Cats must be in a carrier or live trap. Payment has to be made before we leave with the cat. Rabies vaccination is available for $25.00. FVR vaccine is also available for $25.00. Once the spots are filled, we will update the post and will update in the comments.
Please, NO FOOD or water after midnight for these appointments!

Update- paws crossed! Captain Jack is getting his bags packed so he is ready for his next chapter! He will be going to his forever home on Wednesday!!

Captain Jack
Jack finds himself in need of a family or at least a safe place to hang out and heal while finishing treatment and healing.
Captain Jack had been being spotted on security cameras at a residence in the Bad Axe MI area. Resident barn cat was not happy with Jacks arrival. Jack was very friendly with the people at the home and was friendly with all the other cats. The boss resident cat was just not happy and fights with Captain Jack. Tuesday night Captain Jack appeared to the humans with injuries. He was put in a crate for the night and on Wednesday morning he went to the vets office for treatment. When he arrived, they gave him the name Captain Jack, so he was no longer nameless. He underwent surgery for his eye. At this time, it was sewn shut trying to save the eye. He was neutered, received rabies shot, vaccine, ears flushed numerous times to get the ick out and antibiotics. He has a return appointment in a couple weeks. He can be picked up or met with Chris to be taken to his appointment. He is in a temporary crate back at the house, but resident dog is not a fan of cats so now the dog is stressed with a cat in another room. Captain Jack is using the litter box. He is very friendly. He was good with the other cats. Now he needs a family or foster home until a family is found. If interested, please call Chris 989-550-8236 PLEASE SHARE

Very happy to report that the dog running in the CASEVILLE MI area for the last few weeks has been safely caught! This fella had lots of luck on his side along with a group of dedicated helpers! After a few reports of the location that he had been hanging out at for the last few days, Chris & Carrie put the traps in the area and less than 3 hours later got the call from the amazing homeowners that he was in the trap! Huge Thank you to all the neighbors in this location that helped him and let traps be placed on the properties. Many thanks to DeWayne for the walleye that helped seal the deal that made him want to go back into the trap. Thanks to all who reported sightings during his entire journey so he could be tracked. He was taken to the shelter and will get lots of regular meals, treats and attention while he is on his stray hold. Then, the really good part, finding a family for him. TEAM WORK!!
