He was a remarkable goat and will not be forgotten. This past week we spent the evenings walking slowly through the woods or along the driveway and fields while he was trying to recover. His last afternoon we spent under a sun shade with his head on my lap. It was a tough goodbye because of all the trail miles we have put on over the last few years. When you are hiking together you really bond and we were very close. Shalako was a very remarkable goat!

Shalako is showing signs of recovery after being very sick for almost a week. The vet visit revealed a UTI that we had missed because he hadn't been running a fever and wasn't blocked. We only use this chain link fence area as a temporary holding area for obvious reasons.🤠
