We have windows! 🪟🪜🔨Doors are in the works! 🚪🪚🪛🚰Plumbing next week, 🛠️🔧and insulation soon! It’s coming together🥳 The kitchen flow has been established and equipment is being purchased for the commercial kitchen. Help us spread the word that this kitchen will be available for rent. We will also have a food truck dump site available.

The season of change is upon us. Livestock is being culled in preparation for the coming breeding season. Lots of mowing is taking place to prepare to lay down the winter cover crops. Freezers are being filled. The days are getting shorter on the farm and a shift in the rhythm of the farm is evident. Lots of behind the scenes decisions are being made as the farm shop build out is moving forward. I love the autumn season, and I’m preparing to embrace every moment of it! 🍁🍂🍄🌾🎃

Fresh local food at budget friendly pricing is our idea of a rich life! Our goal from the beginning, for this farm has been to help fill the food desert gap for our local community. We are working hard to make that happen! Beef, milk fat lamb, eggs, whole chickens are being raised on this rich red dirt! Building community partnerships with other local farmers and craftsmen is key to our process. A weekly visit to Fagan's Farm now through October will supply your family with foods that are delicious and nutritious! They have all the good stuff, fruits, vegetables, produce, meats, milk, cheese, ice cream, desserts, and so much more🫐🍉🥒🌶️🫛🥔🍠🧅🥚🍳🧀🥩🥗🥛🍑🍅🥬🫑

The bad news is….that on July 29th, between the hours of 1-4pm we suffered a devastating attack on our laying hen coop! We did not see it happen, but we believe it was a neighbors dog that ransacked our pasture layer coop. They killed 14 egg laying mature hens and a really good rooster. This is not the pretty side of farming. We take plenty of precautions to keep our livestock safe, but wild dogs on our property has created many issues over the last few years.
The good news is that yesterday we were able to add back to our coop! We found 20, 16 week old hens and a beautiful rooster. These new hens aren’t laying just yet, but will be in the next few weeks. We secretly moved them into the coop under the cover of darkness. Farming has many ups and downs! We choose joy over all!
