🌻 Our sunflower fields are in bloom and more beautiful than ever! 🌻
We’re often asked why our fields look different from other fields in the area. We’re proud to grow our flowers naturally, without pesticides or harmful chemicals. This approach lets our sunflowers thrive alongside wildflowers, grasses, and even weeds, creating a vibrant and healthy ecosystem with happy pollinators. Additionally, we put a six foot row of grass between every two six foot rows of sunflowers to prevent field erosion.
Our sunflower fields have a variety of sunflowers with different heights, bloom sizes, and colors because we plant new sunflowers every week over a 5 week period. They all have their own life cycle with different growing times and bloom lengths. We do our best to have good blooms every day from July to September! If you think you don’t see an abundance of blooms immediately as you enter the field, don’t worry, there’s a huge blooming area somewhere else! Some of the best blooms are hiding! The best blooming areas change every day. Make sure you have your map with the current bloom report and marked off areas shown or ask a staff member for recommendations on where to find the best blooms that day. Remember, it’s all part of the natural growing process.
Join us for our Sunflower Festival on August 24-25, and 31-September 1! Enjoy live music, a wide variety of vendors, a full food truck lineup, and plenty of fun activities for the whole family. Visit our farm animals, play in our kid-friendly areas, and make this a family bucket list experience before heading back to school. 🌾🐝
