This one will be long winded!!!!!
Rolling Double ✔️ off the bucket list!!
We rolled into Smithton Illinois on Friday afternoon to compete in the Smok'n in the Park contest and pulled right into the spot next to our buddies 1 Bite Stand !
We laughed so hard my guts hurt the next day!! Céline Dion to 50 we play it alllllll!!!
Cook day #1
We closed the boxes on some good food and waited on awards.

Good enough to land us in the RGC spot right behind our good buddies The Burnt Crow! Congratulations on your well deserved GC!!!

Packed it all up and headed to The Route 66 BBQ Battle & Bluegrass Festival - Pacific, MO for another round of fun!!!
Now is when the tired started creeping in as well as every bone in my body started to cry for help a little….😂
Pulled in and parked right next to turn ins? Thanks for leaving that spot for us everyone🤣
A short time later here comes the GC and parks next to us and the shenanigans were on! Sketchy bunny, burnt cow, belly rubs, shotguns and personal watercraft…. It was wild!

Cook day #2
Again we closed boxes on some good food and waited for that kick in the nuts that always seems to happen after a good cook!!!

Along with these 2 contests there was an 2 day overall Grand Champion and we were fortunate enough to be called last for GC over the 2 day event right after High on the Hog Barbeque for RGC! Congratulations Fellas!!

Now we rest a little and get ready for Sullivan Mo. At the end of the month.

We had a great time yesterday at the 2nd annual Korte Meat Processing rid burn! As always the whole Korte crew rolled out the red carpet for teams and public alike!
As for the cook we tried some new stuff I cooked rib A ….not to shabby 25th out of 43 great teams.
Rib B. Was cooked by Rich with a new recipe and ended up 25th out of 43.

We made the trip over to our favorite meat market Korte Meat Processing for St. Louis BBQ Society double rib burn! Always a great time hanging with BBQ friends and making a few new ones. This group puts on a great contest every single time!!!
We closed the lid on few good boxes now it’s up to the judges.
