END OF AN ERA
It is difficult for us to let the public know that for the first year in over 65 years (with few exceptions) there will be no strawberries available at Estelle's Strawberry Patch this summer (Summer 2025)!
The business was located 8 miles west of Ga***rd on Alba Road.
This popular stop for travelers and locals alike to pick up their strawberries to eat on the road, at their campsite or to take home to make jam will not be open this summer.
Strawberries are labor intensive with planting every 2 to 3 years, w**d, insect and disease control and irrigating - not to mention the ever-popular "picking". Then there is the preparing for and managing the market. Ed was the master of the patch and when he passed away in 2022 the outlook changed and it was no
longer feasible to continue with the operation.
The Estelle family would like to thank all the loyal customers who came each year. We will miss visiting with them. The family is grateful for the unending help of their family members and grandchildren now grown and moved on with their lives. Special thanks to Dick and Chris Bur for their many
years of hard work and support who can now enjoy retirement!
