Unfortunatley were discovering there is someone not honoring the honor system and helping themselves to cash out of the box. If you’re reading this please return the money in the same way you took it, just put it back with nobody watching and there won’t be any police involved. I really want to be able to trust people and by and large all of you are great except what I think is one individual. Unfortunately I don’t have the time to sit outside all day every day to watch over things. I am going to need to bump the prices on melons by $1 to $7 for cantaloupe and $10 for watermelon or I won’t be able to keep doing this. My Venmo QR is in the pics below. Feel free to use it.

Fresh load of melons on the wagon. Cantaloupes, seedless and seeded. There are a couple yellow left from Sunday but nothing on this load. Beat the heat with sweet and juicy watermelons.

Took a big bite out of the pile of melons yesterday but there is still a good amount this morning.

Sunday morning (8/30/2026) update. Another load of melons was unloaded this morning. There are some total chonker cantaloupes in the mix and they smell divine. More seedless and seeded red flesh watermelons and some more yellow flesh seedless watermelons. Will probably start picking corn this week and I think I’m going to do this as “pay what you think it’s worth to you” basis. I will be culling the really poorly pollinated ears in the field, you can feel big patches of missing kernels through the husks. There will likely be an earworm in the tip of most of them but there won’t be any insecticide residue as always. I’ll make a post later on earworm and what they are and why they are prevalent in early season and late season sweetcorn later. I know this isn’t an ideal situation and I don’t want to sell something for full price that I’m not proud of but I know there are lots of folks waiting on that last taste of summer sweetcorn until next year. I think this is fair to me and to all of you and it won’t all go to waste.

Some bad news here team, the last patch of sweetcorn has real poor pollination. Not sure if it’s from those stupid hot days a few weeks back or excessive rain washing pollen off tassels and not making it to the silk.

Give me some feedback on what to do.

Sell at a discount and only pick the best feeling ears or chalk it up as a loss? Earworm in every ear too so we have that to contend with as well

The girls are in charge this week. They just restocked melons and have cut some sunflowers.

We have seeded watermelons and black diamond, yellow flesh, and standard seedless melons.

Watermelons are still all $9, cantaloupe are $6. Sunflowers are $2/stem or 6 for $10.

I know it’s soggy but have a fresh load of yellow watermelon, black diamond, seedless, and seed. I’m going to keep the plastic over the cantaloupes until the rain stops to keep them as fresh as possible. The rain really seems to accelerate their demise.
