Christ Orchard has been family owned and operated for nearly 30 years. The Midland Coal Company planted the orchard in the 1970s and asked the Elmwood FFA to manage it. Kurt Christ was integrally involved in the operation and upon graduation he began renting the orchard from the coal company. The orchard has grown to include not only U-Pick apples, but also U-Pick pumpkins, fresh pressed apple cider, fall decorations, mums, fruit preserves and much more.

I’ve dreamed of having a slushy machine for years and 2026 was the year I finally decided to take the plunge! ❄️🍎

It’s 100% apple cider that’s frozen into slushy perfection…and it hits the spot on a warm, late summer day!

Tomato Update (8/24/26)

Wow! You guys really showed up for my tomatoes this year! Deciding to grow 800 tomato plants has been a fun challenge and I’m glad y’all were here for it!

Sadly, most of my plants are determinate plants meaning they put on all their fruit at once instead of producing all season. Also, the 9” of rain we’ve received recently has slowed production as well.

So, I am no longer able to offer bulk boxes of tomatoes. I will still have tomatoes for several weeks to purchase individually (85 cents) or by the quart box ($3.50).

It’s been such a fun run, and I appreciate each one of you whether you bought one tomato or 50 lbs! Let’s do this again next year?? 😅
