NEW LINEUP ALERT‼️ Beer of the week : Joshua Tree Kolsch

Kölsch is a crisp, clean, and refreshing German hybrid beer with a light, golden color, subtle bready malt flavors, and a dry finish. It is fermented like an ale but cold-conditioned like a lager, giving it a smooth, lager-like quality with a touch of fruity esters from the ale yeast.

The name comes from the album The Joshua Tree by the Irish rock band U2 released in 1987.

This beer was first brewed and released on the owner’s son Josh’s 21st birthday. Josh was one of the brewery’s first bartenders when we opened in 2019.

🎉 Year 6: 2025 — Cheers to Another Great Year at The House 🍻

What a year and what a celebration! Huge thanks to everyone who came out to our 6-Year Anniversary Bash and helped make it one to remember. ❤️

In 2025, we kept the music rolling with bands on the patio every Saturday and Sunday all summer long, plus a few indoor shows when the weather didn’t cooperate. 🎶☀️

We added a shiny new delivery van to keep those House brews on the move 🚐💨 and had a blast pouring samples at the Indian Creek Nature Center’s Trailside Tastings. 🍺

Six years down, and we’re just getting started. Thanks for being part of The House family and here’s to the next round! 🍻

🏳️‍🌈 Year 5: 2024 — Sponsors, Silipints & Star Wars Nights 🍺✨

By 2024, The House was everywhere. On the course, at the rink, and all over Ely! We proudly sponsored Hole 7 at Airport National Golf Course, the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, and Ely Parks & Rec to keep supporting the community that supports us. 🙌

We rolled out colorful Pride glasses, poured at the Iowa Craft Beer Festival, and kept the good vibes flowing with live bands and another round of the Ely Open. 🎶⛳️

Fans got to show their colors with our new Silipints, the perfect game-day glass for your favorite team. 🖤💛❤️🤍 And speaking of game day, Lisa & Cal were back at it, gearing up for the big Cy-Hawk showdown. 🏈

We even hosted Star Wars–themed trivia with the Ely Library. Costumes, laughs, and a whole lot of “May the pours be with you.” ✨🍻

The countdown’s almost complete… Year 6 drops tomorrow and the celebration’s this Sunday, Oct. 26th! 🎉

NEW LINEUP ALERT‼️ Beer of the week : Pretty Rye (For a Kveik Guy) IPA

Our rye IPA is brewed like a traditional American IPA but with about 30% rye malt added to the mash to give a tangy or spicy character to the beer. It is dry hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Cascade, and Citra hops to add fruity and citrusy flavors to the beer. Our version of Rye IPA was fermented using Kveik ale yeast which ferments at very high temperatures yet creates a neutral flavor profile with some subtle fruity notes.

The name comes from the song Pretty Fly (For a White Guy) released by the American rock band The Offspring in 1998.

⚾️ Year 4: 2023 — More Beer, More Cheers, More Comfort 🍻

2023 was all about leveling up at The House! We added an automatic canning machine, making it easier than ever to keep your favorite brews stocked and ready to go. ✨

Our crew kicked off a new fan-favorite tradition, renting a Diamond Suite at a Cedar Rapids Kernels game, with customers entering a free raffle for tickets. Talk about a home run! ⚾️

We also poured samples at the Taste of Jazz fundraiser for our local public radio station — just one of the many festivals and beer tastings that keep us out in the community we love. 🎷💛

Back home, live music filled the patio, the Ely Open returned for its second year, and we upgraded the taproom with new tables and comfy chairs because you deserve to sit in style. 😎

🍺 Year 3: 2022 — Traditions, Tournaments & a Touch of Chaos

By 2022, The House was packed with new traditions and unforgettable stories. Our Sunday live music rolled on, and we hosted the 1st annual Ely Open Golf Outing and now one of our favorite summer events. ⛳️

When Ely celebrated its 150th Anniversary, we brewed a special Home Sweet Home Lager that became an instant hit (and it’s made several comebacks since). That weekend also gave us the legendary Chicken Bingo game yes, with a real rooster deciding your prize. 🐓🎉

Our Take Me Out to the Ballgame IPA made its debut at the Iowa Craft Beer Tent at the State Fair, kicking off a yearly tradition we’re still proud of. 🎡

And finally… after six straight Cy-Hawk losses, Cal got a break and Lisa had to rock the Cyclone shirt at Ely Fall Fest for the first time. ⚫️🟡❤️

We wrapped it up with a cozy hayrack ride and spooky stories for Halloween.
