Be on the look out for Japanese Beetles.

The treatment threshold for Japanese beetle in soybeans is 30% defoliation before bloom and 20% defoliation after bloom.

Because adults are highly mobile, remember to continue scouting through seed set. Adults can continue to reinfest fields even after an insecticide application.

Time to start setting Corn Rootworm Traps.

Corn rootworms have been feeding in area corn fields and some are now becoming adult beetles that are emerging from the soil.

We can help customers with long term corn on corn evaluate fields for future high-risk rootworm pressure fields with yellow sticky traps.

Warmer temperatures look to be on the horizon!

Keep these questions in mind as we start considering planting.

1. Are the soils fit to plant? We don't want sidewall compaction. If yes, proceed to question #2 and #3.

2. Have soil temperatures reached 50F degrees? Seed's first drink of water is important.

3. Does the forecast show a warming trend after planting? A cold rain right after planting should be avoided.
