Hello everyone, it’s me again.
Please take a few minutes and watch the entire video. I promise it is worth watching, because this is not about me. This is about the safety of ALL of the children.
I’m not afraid to speak up, especially when it comes to kids. Children don’t always have a voice, so if I see something dangerous happening, I’m going to use my voice for them.
I understand that sometimes people are afraid to speak up because they don’t want problems or disagreements. I understand that. But when children’s safety is involved, I believe we have to say something before something terrible happens—not after.
I want to make something very clear: I am not trying to cause problems or create hate toward the city, the school, the police department, the mayor, or anyone else. I respect all of them, and I hope nobody takes this personally. I’m simply a concerned member of this community asking everyone to come together and protect these kids.
Please watch what is happening here. Children are crossing this busy street without a crossing guard. I saw a little boy crossing by himself. Today, I witnessed three children who came dangerously close to being hit by a vehicle. Parents are also stopping in the roadway to drop children off, blocking traffic and creating even more confusion and danger for other drivers and children.
Something needs to change before a child gets seriously hurt.
We need the crossing guard back at this location. We need clear school-zone safety measures, including proper flashing lights and enforcement of the 20 MPH school-zone speed limit when applicable. We need a safer system for parents dropping off their children so traffic keeps moving and kids can cross safely.
I’m not asking anyone to attack anybody. Please don’t turn this into hate or arguments. I’m asking the city, the school, the police, the mayor, the council, parents, and our community to work together and find a solution.
And please understand why I am speaking up. I’m not doing this for attention, and I’m not looking for trouble. I’m doing it because these children deserve to get to school and back home safely every single day.
If speaking up makes some people upset with me, I hope they understand my intention. I’m simply trying to protect the kids.
