Astrid isn't even a year old yet and she's already almost as big as Taraday 😅 she'll be bred this summer 💜 I'm excited for her to freshen next year and to see her production- her dam gives 9 gallons a day and is a challenge to dry off. Her sire, Olympe, is a butterfat bull, passing on lower production but higher butterfat. Curious to see what this results in for her!

The cows and I are figuring out this rotational grazing thing together. So far, I'm happy with their daily intake. I give them a day piece, and once my new reels get here tomorrow, that day piece will be split into a daytime piece and a night time piece so they can move twice a day instead of just once a day. Hoping that gives us a little more impact on the ground. The pasture they were on last week is already growing back and looking great, so I think we're doing it right 😅❤️
