Where have we gone?

It's been a long time since I've posted on here, so I'd like to say what is happening. With some life changes we have decided to focus solely on our dairy goats "Elixir’s Pride Dairy Goats". While we will be keeping a select few boers, they won't be shown at shows anymore. That means this page will be getting deactivated by spring 2025 after all boers have kidded. Any who wish to follow our change to dairy goats can follow our much more active dairy goat page Elixir’s Pride Dairy Goats. Thank you all for following for this long.

2024 breeding season outline has been finished! At this point in time we do not take reservations for babies out of any breedings as we are still somewhat new to dairy goats.

In regards to the dispersal post, I realized it had lots of mistakes in it so I ended up taking it down in favor of a more in depth post, this one. (Ugh, tired adhd brain is to blame, lol.) And after tons of consideration, I decided moving wasn't beneficial and too costly.

Starting April 2024 I will be doing a herd reset, essentially dispersing 3/4 of my herd and keeping the better 1/4. By doing so I am able to 'refresh' my herd and practically start over, but with better quality animals. That being said I plan to keep roughly 9 does boer, 3 dairy does and one boer buck. Meaning I will be letting go 16-17 head of animals. In doing so I will have the ability to bring in higher quality animals to better the development of my herd.

As of right now things are still iffy, but I'm hoping to keep at least 3 of my dairy goats, those being Fancy, Zasha, and Queen. My end goal is to produce high quality animals that thrive on pasture, but can turn around and be an abga show animal.
