Good morning farm friends! 🤎

I know it’s been a bit since I’ve been posting; we’ve been busy preserving, homeschooling, and doing all the things to get the garden ready for winter.

Speaking of garden: I have a TON of peppers 🌶️ 🫑 available. Jalapeño, Datil 🥵 (green, but still very hot!), and sweet lunchbox snacking peppers. $3/half pound.

After making this batch, I had the revelation that I could just use my tomato purée from the roasting pan and measure out 10 cups, add the seasonings, and can it 🤯 Which is what I intended to do for the next 31 jars.

We’re nearly there! I cooked this down all night then added the last 10lbs or so that wouldn’t fit yesterday. 🍅

I think it’ll be ready to can up either after dinner or first thing tomorrow. I’m really aiming to have nice thick sauce that doesn’t get watery when I make the spaghetti 🍝 I was so close last year.

Then I’ll start the next batch! 🤪

Happy Harvest Moon farm friends! 🤎

What a temperature difference from this day last year 🥶 Last year we were all outside harvesting every last bean we could see by the light of the moon 🫘 Tonight we’re snuggled up in the house ready for some apple picking tomorrow morning 🍏
