This spring we were fortunate enough to sell several kids to 4H family all across MD, PA, DE, and more. With that, we also got to opportunity to go and visit some of showmen and their projects.

In July, we attended South Mountain Fair where we had three goats being exhibited and all of them placed within the top end of their respective classes. And if you remember one of our last posts, one of our customers was named Grand Champion Market Goat Showman.

Also during July we had goats being exhibited at both the Delaware Stare Fair as well as the Carroll County Fair. It was super exciting to see several of our goats being shown at our home county fair. All of them did exceptionally well and I am very proud of the showman exhibiting them.

This week, we attended Howard County Fair where we had six goats from Country Colors being exhibited in both the market and breeding shows. One buckling we sold this spring was named Reserve Grand Champion Buck. In addition, one of our doe kids was named 5th Best Lightweight.

With that, we just wanted to take a moment and recognized these exhibitors and their families. We appreciate you trusting in our herd and breeding operation. We look forward to seeing some more projects being exhibited into the fall. Also keep in mind when considering to support local 4H auctions that most of our doe kids are registrable. So if you see a Black or Green Country Colors tag, feel free to reach out to us or talk to the exhibitor! Also don’t be shy to share your successes with us! Ewe lamb for sale! Full sister is hitting the show string. No complaints on this ewe lamb, she’s still green but coming also nicely. Just need the space to focus on fall show line up and make room for some fresh blood. Pm for more Info

Great night at South Mountain Fairgrounds for the Country Colors Crew last night! After working with Abigail and Everleigh since last year, I was happy to see much improvement in their showmanship skills. Last night Everleigh rose to the top securing Champion Intermediate Showmanship and Grand Champion Market Goat Showman. I’m truly excited to watch these girls improve their craft over the next few years. In addition to showmanship, the girls also competed in the market competition with three goats bred by us at Country Colors. One of the three market goats came full circle for us because it is the final daughter of my first show goats from back in 2016. Ten years later, we got to see those old foundation genetics brought on by Sierra hit the ring once again. She also happened to be the heaviest goat in the show which was cooler to see in comparison to some of the smaller more moderate frame show goats we see on the show circuit today. All three market goats will be sold Saturday July 25, 2026 starting at 3:00 pm. These girls will also have turkeys and a dairy feeder as well! Be sure to come out and support!

As we celebrate Father’s Day today, let us not forget the boys who have been the back bone to our herd for awhile now. Peachy Pl***oy has been our main herdsire for several years now. Though he’s slowly working himself out of a job here, without him I don’t know where I’d be. Ace of Hearts is on his third breeding season here, as much like Pl***oy, began covering does before hitting a year old. He’s bloomed into a rather big boy this year but it still a total love bug. Everyone who’s come to purchase kids this year has love his affectionate personality and need for scratches. Both boys have produced several successful kids with wins ranging from class champions to Grand Champion Market Goats. Without our bucks, we wouldn’t be able to offer the diverse quality and selection of kids. With that I am grateful for the contributions they’ve made to our farm and in our hearts. Happy Father’s Day to the boys and any one else reading this!

2026 Show Season started off primarily focusing on the lambs. However, in the last few weeks the goats finally made their way to town. Every goat in our show string this year is completely bred and owned - some of which are third and fourth generation bred and owned. We’ve been fortunate enough to see several of our goats being shown this spring across several different states and doing rather well. We cannot wait to see what’s in store next for the kids produced at Country Colors. We thank each and everyone one of you who’ve purchased from us and or supported us throughout the years!

We have two end of January kids still available as well as two mid february kids. There’s also two march kids available for anyone with a later target show. The one is a really attractive dapple bucking with dapple genetics. All out of our % ABGA bucks. There is only ONE doeling available. Message me for more info!

UPDATE: LAMBS ARE SOLD
Hey everyone! I know we have a lot of people eager for the next set of kids to be weaned for the first week of April. I would like to add that we will have some February kids that will be weaned middle of April, in addition to early March kids that will be weaned early May. If the midst of all that we have three bottle hair lambs that are looking for new homes! The mostly black one is a female and the other two are males.
