Alford Family Farm

Alford Family Farm We are a strawberry, blueberry and blackberry U-Pick farm in Emory, Tx. Our homemade ice cream is always a favorite!

We open in April and by June we sell our fresh veggies as well as our pecans, jellies, jams and honey along with our berries. We are a family farm growing a diverse number of crops in a healthy, sustainable way. These include strawberries, blueberries and blackberries which we sell through our farmers markets and Pick Your Own operation here at the farm. We have 380 mature Pecan trees that we hope

to harvest each year. Our muscadine grape vineyard produces both jumbo and small red and golden grapes, Michael grows at least 6 varieties of tomatoes each year in his vegetable garden as well as onions, zucchini, squash and more. He has rebuilt his aquaponic greenhouse where he starts all of his seedlings before planting as well as cares for his extensive collection of bonsai trees. Our Belted Galloway Cattle, who some call the oreo cookie cows can be seen grazing in our pasture and you will enjoy being greeted by our free range chickens, dogs, cats and koi fish...Check out our website if you get a chance....I am always trying to add more pictures and information there!

The berries here on the farm are about as good as they're going to get.

Remember, blackberries are best picked earlier in the day...the later in the day it gets, the sugars in the berry will actually recess back into the plant as the heat rises...interesting isn't it!?

This is not true of blueberries, they are good any time of the day!

We also have our fresh vegetables available including cucumbers now. No green beans or okra yet, but they are coming!

Hours: 8am to 3pm...Daily

Please call ahead for pre-picked...Tom - 214-697-8532

Well, our berries look like they are done for the season.

We'll be reopening at the end of May (hopefully) for blackberry season, followed by the blueberries. We'll keep you posted on specific dates in a few weeks.

Until then, we are grateful for the rain we are getting for the sake of our vegetable garden and pecan trees, the flowers and the ponds....WE ARE BLESSED! See you again soon!

Our strawberry season is coming to a close.

We will NOT be open tomorrow, Sunday or Monday. However, we will examine the field Monday night to determine availability of any new ripe berries for the coming week. At that time, we will be able to determine if we can open this next week, or if our strawberry season is over.

Blueberry and Blackberry season is coming! We expect the blackberries to ripen a week before the blueberries this year. We will keep you posted as we get closer to June on when we will reopen for the June berry picking.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out for strawberries. Because of your support of our family farm, we can continue to offer good, sustainable and organically grown fruits and vegetables for your family.
