A little over a year ago, we started my journey into beekeeping, and it’s been the most enjoyable and full filling thing we have done yet. These little bee’s are so facinating, and the more you grow and learn, the more interesting they become. Sunday we officially picked up our 8th hive, a swarm!!! So blessed, and excited. Our goal was to have 8-10 hives at our Homestead and within a year, God blessed us with just that!! No we don’t have honey, and that’s ok. They are all working diligently to build up there homes first.
A lot of people don’t realize but when you get bees, it’s not like a vending machine, and the honey starts. To have a beautiful strong hive, you have let them build a home first. Let them settle, let them establish themselves. Than you can start collecting “Rent” as we like to call it, haha. As of now, my hives are still building homes, so no Rent payments yet, but I will assure you, stay in touch with us all year, and especially next spring! Because when it hits, it will be flowing!! I have 2 hives that are on there last home creating, and they will be ready to bless us with that beautiful gold!

Bees are the heartbeat of the garden, and the reason so many flowers, fruits, and wild things thrive.
