Wow…SIX YEARS!!….
six years of where’s the bathroom?? What do you have here? Can you fill my water bottle? Do you have ice cream? do you have a menu? Can I order here? This is the pickup window…Where’s the bathroom?….and MORE (stay tuned for the book…lol)
Rosie’s Snack Shack has officially closed!!
When I began, I knew nothing about this business. Stress level was through the roof and I was a completely different person. The six year experience has taught me resilience and FAITH above all. Survived so many issues, that no one could even imagine. I’ve weathered the storm(and the floods), I am grateful for the experience, blessings and lessons learned, and now…it’s time to sail…..
But before I lift those sails, my gratitude, THANK YOUS and prayers to those who made it happen…you have not only been loyal customers , but some have become (hopefully) life long friends!
Six years ago I would never have imagined this was going to be such an amazing, crazy, wonderful ride. I’ve been blessed and honored to have served so many kind, wonderful, funny, caring, generous and loving people. I am truly humbled by your support, generosity and hope I did your town/park /Shack proud. As I move on to the next phase of my wonderful life, I take with me so many memories of kindness, love and the true human spirit I know we ALL have, and must share more often.
You have given me so many incredible moments to remember, good and bad. From the floods, to the gate closures, to the art shows, to the music venues, to the eagles flying above, to the whale in the river, cyclist crashes, insults, compliments, people driving the wrong way, to questions and statements like: ‘where’s the bathroom’?, ‘you should have an ATM machine’, ‘you should have air conditioning in there’, ‘you should open at 6am’, and the list goes on and on and ON….
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for my biggest JOY. the sharing of your pets and children with me…the pets: LuLu, BYYYROOOONNNN!!!! Clovis, Annie, Maya, Coco, Charly, Mavis, TiChi(aka:Pulguita), Cairo, and SOOOOOOO many others….and the children…Wila, Olive, Mason, Sage, Josiah…and just wayyyy too many to name…
Animals and children are the purest form of love…my appreciation to them is endless, I pray they make the world a more peaceful, loving place.
To my Shack family….Bob, DeeDee, Pernell and Carol,Dulci&Sean,JoEllen,Jerry,Susan,Rachel,Peggy and John, Carolyn and George(rip), Carolyn(my ScionXB sister), Rob, Roger, Ali & Hubby, Tamera, Howie, Fred/Elaine and Karen (apologies if I forget anyone…)
To my maintenance guys…what can I say? you know who you are…I love you. You cared enough to be there whenever I called, you ALWAYS had my back, always treated me with the utmost respect, were there to give me a helping hand the hundreds of times I couldn’t lift something to put in my car. The place was always spotless when you had your hand in it and I appreciate all your hard work expecting NOTHING FREE IN RETURN. May you and your families be blessed with many years of happiness and LOVE! I will miss the drive by’s….
I want to thank all the people who have worked for me throughout the years, I could not have done it or grown as a human being without you. I thank you for your time and patience with me, my apologies for the immature meltdowns in the beginning, after much soul searching I owe you an apology for my behavior, you have taught me who I DON’T want to be.
To the musicians, artists, creatives and supporters of all things cultural…THANK YOU for sharing your talents with us, the Shack could not have become a beacon of art without you, especially my girl Sandie Butler(resident artist on hand almost every weekend with her demos)
The PIP cops, I hold you in my heart that you remain safe at your jobs and that the hand of God ALWAYS protects you as you protected me and my business. I’m going to miss your faces and waves as you drove by, stopped in throughout the day…HUGE thanks to Chief Steven Shallop for your fairness and understanding in the most difficult of times, I APPRECIATED IT.
I will miss you guys and girls…STAY SAFE.
And last but not least I need to give a bigger than life THANK YOU to Scott, who just happen to be running by one day, popped in and introduced himself. No greater example of how the universe works…
We went through some crazy times together and shared some of the most wonderful, human, spiritual, growth moments of our lives…..
You had my back, had patience with me, protected me, and for that I adore you and am blessed and grateful to have had you in my life. The Shack would not have been such a loving, place without you.
Take good care of yourself, your heart and your life…I love you.
And now…for the last time…I’m done!
