Update on our BBS Marans!
I ordered 2 dozen eggs from Feather Shack Farm, she sent some extras which gave us 30 to put in the incubator.
I was shocked when I candled the first time and every single one was developing! Then every egg made it to lockdown...even crazier!
We ended up with TWENTY NINE hatched, and every chick is healthy and happy. I still can't believe it 🤯
We are already in love with them. So excited to see what they add to our flock ❤️

Feels like spring here 😬🫣
The weather this winter has been crazy, and now we have a calf and incoming chicks!
These peepers will be available locally at hatch! 22 eggs went into lock down.
Which means 22/24 went into lock down, one more started to develop but quit early on. Super happy with that fertility rate!

We have a sweet new baby ❤️ This girl was born on Monday, her and mama are doing great!

Some pretty big things have happened in the last couple of years! I'll be working to update this page and share more of what's going on here.
Our Guernsey cow, Jolene, surprised us with twin heifer calves last time she calved. She is due again any time now. We are very anxiously waiting to have delicious golden milk and a cute calf running around again!
On another note, we are super excited about our chickens! We have been working on an olive egger program utilizing Marans, Ameraucanas, Crested Cream Legbars, and Welsummers! Our first batch of "mixed rainbow eggers" for the year are in the incubator now. For this year we will be offering some local hatching eggs and chicks. We will also have some laying hens and cockerels available soon 😉
