It’s the time of year where the dahlias are exploding! It’s so fun to see loads of blooms brining joy and life to the field! With loads of bloom comes loads of work! We have started the giant task of documenting dahlias sooner than usual this year (trying to not be behind like usual 🤪) Every time I start this process I’m reminded how stunning dahlias are and why they are so easy to get obsessed with!

A whole life cycle in a single photo! These bread seed poppies are one of the things I was most excited to try growing this year, and they do not disappoint. From seed to bloom, pod to dried seeds, every stage has been beautiful. I decided the first seeds would be returned to the garden and sprinkled them where I want these beauties to grow next spring!

Keep your eyes out for some new offerings from the farm this year to make next years garden even more beautiful!

Early summer is the emergence of the season for us! Our dahlias are starting to take off and many of our favorite filler flowers are in full swing! There is so much beauty in bloom on the farm 🌸 it’s hard to pick a favorite but I’m really loving our Sahara Black Eyed Susan this year!

The winner this dahlia season is Tahoma Little One 🌸

Our dahlia field is about to take off and explode with blooms and this beauty made the first appearance. It’s such a beautiful time of year as the summer blooms make their entrance!

Shadow Cat has quickly become my favorite burgundy! She has the sturdiest plants, nice long stems, abundant blooms, and to die for robust tubers! Honestly, what more could you ask for?

As a fun little extra: blooms in this color and form dehydrated in silica gels turn almost black! It’s a fun little experiment I tried out over the past year and I’m making a list of things to do with dehydrated black dahlias! What are your ideas?
