The “larder” is filling up! I’ve worked so hard this year to preserve stuff from the garden to get us through the winter. My ultimate goal is to not have to purchase fruits and veg over the winter and use what we have. There’s a lot more not pictured here too in storage and in our freezers.

Here’s a list of what I’ve preserved so far:

- onions
- garlic
- tomato paste
- tomato sauce
- jam
- applesauce
- salsa verde
- pickles
- sweet and spicy peppers
- beets
- cherries
- strawberries
- blueberries
- green beans
- strawberry lemonade
- apple juice
- dried apples
- pears (doing this weekend)
- our own farm raised chickens
- water glassed eggs
- peaches
- honey (not our own but from our friends down the road)
- whole tomatoes
- winter squash
- carrots
- kale
- broccoli
- peas
- rhubarb
- whole tomatillos

I’m pretty excited as this is the most I’ve grown and stored before. I already have a list too for next year of what I want to add and expand upon. The season is not quite over, with more to do before I “close” the garden for the year. 👏🏻

I still remember the days I prayed for the things I have now. 🚜 ❤️

THAT MOMENT - when I went from hating zinnias to loving them. 😂 Last season I told myself I didn’t want to grow them next year and then a friend told me (thanks Kesley!) that you’ll learn to love them because they have such a long vase life.

And she was 100% spot on. This year I’m growing a lot of different zinnia varieties and I went from thinking I was going to nix them in the garden to really enjoying them. It’s been fun growing different varieties and discovering which ones I love the most.

Drop a heart below if you’re growing zinnias this season.

I’ve had so much fun this year putting bouquets together. The creative side of me is having a blast working with colors, textures and greenery.

This is only my second year making bouquets and growing flowers for cutting and it’s been neat to dial in what I love the most in to grow next year.

What are your favorite colors with fresh flowers?

Gardener’s dream - walking out to your garden and picking produce you need for dinner that night.

Kale salad and fixings for burgers is the latest. 👏🏻

What are you harvesting out of your garden at the moment?

Friends who work nonstop and farmers - this is for you. 😘

Take time to recharge and fill your cup. It could be as simple as unplugging and being more present with your loved ones for a few days, or going into the woods with no cell reception, or heading to the beach for a mini vacation. You deserve it. Take a break. Your body, mind and soul will thank you. ❤️

With that said, I’ll be unplugging from July 10-14 to soak in the summer and take a break to refresh mid season. 👏🏻 “See” you when I return!
🚜 ❤️

When I went to France a few years back (before we even owned the farm), I visited some beautiful châteaus that had gorgeous fresh arrangements in every room. It inspired me to one day have a cut flower garden where I could grace every room in our home with fresh flowers.

While the majority of our garden is dedicated to growing vegetables, a portion of it is used for cut flowers. It brings me so much joy not just to see them in a vase in our home but tending to them, harvesting and arranging bring joy as well.

If you love having fresh flowers in your house, drop a 🌸 emoji below and share your favorite flower!

🎉 Garlic harvesting is like a party in the garden. 8-9 months of tending to it and growing time and then harvest day comes and you reap the rewards of your labor.

Every tug on a stem is a moment of wonder, to see how big the bulb will be, if it grew well, what the color of the skin looks like… there’s nothing quite like it.

This year my goal was to grow enough garlic to get us through the year to next harvest season. I also chose softneck varieties that store well with the hopes that they will in fact last a year. After they cure, I’ll be braiding them for long term storage in our basement.

Did you grow garlic this year? If so, what varieties? Is it harvest season for you as well? I’d love to hear! 👏🏻

Want to get more produce and harvests out of your garden? Ensure you’re on track with your planting schedule. 😉 The more you plant now (earlier in the season), the more you will harvest later. Check out our June gardening to do’s here on what else you can plant and also what is in season to can or preserve this month.

Want this in a fun and easy printable to follow along or put on your fridge? I got you! 😍 Grab your free printable for your June gardening to do’s at the link in bio!
