Spot gave birth last night to 11 piglets, the biggest litter of the summer so far.

This group came with some really unique coloring, and I’ll be choosing replacement gilts from this litter once I finish their vet work tomorrow. Strong structure, strong patterns, and a lot of potential in this group. Truly great breeding happens when form meets function.

One of the piglets picked up a small scrape during farrowing, totally normal and already healing.

Charlie — now on her tenth litter — decided to build her own nest out in the yard of the farrowing area instead of using the pen I set up for her.

She’s always been a dependable sow, and she delivered nine healthy piglets overnight. Not a jackpot litter, but a solid, healthy start to the summer season from a sow who’s proven herself year after year.

Since she’s separated in the farrowing area, everyone is safe, warm, and off to a strong start.

Weaned the big batch this week — five litters all at once. Everyone is healthy, eating well, and settling into the weaning pen.

I have 20 piglets available from this group for late‑April pickup. If you’re planning to raise pigs this year, now’s the time to get on the list.
