The Mason Jar Farm is offering our Intermediate Gardening Class again this year, and we have added a Beginning Gardening Class, new this season.

These classes each offer nine hours of intensive instruction over three sessions. The Intermediate Gardening class is intended for folks who have had some success at growing a garden and wish to "up their game". The Beginning Gardening class is intended for those who are just starting out gardening and need to learn the basic skills.

Both classes include a wide selection of tomato, pepper, basil, lettuce, cauliflower and other plant starts that the student will receive as part of the class.

The instructor is Farmer Steve, of The Mason Jar Farm. Farmer Steve has been growing vegetables on the Enumclaw Plateau since 1983, and has been a professional produce grower at The Mason Jar Farm since 2014.

PM The Mason Jar Farm (https://www.facebook.com/TheMasonJarFarm) and provide an email address for the full details on both classes.

Joyce from Ode to Joy Farm Enumclaw came over and helped us plant garlic today. Farmer Jenni suggested we post a comment about how we plant our garlic. As you can see from the photo, we don't plant very deep and we don't cover the cloves with soil. We just press the clove (root side down!) firmly into the soil.

We'll come back during the next few days and apply a 3"-4" mulch of well rotted wood chips over the rows to protect the plants from the severest cold of winter.
