🚨 THE GIRLS ARE LAYING AGAIN! 🚨

A full dozen in just 2 days! 🐔🥚

Hopefully we’re getting back into the swing of things before winter. If production keeps picking up, now’s a good time to stock up a little.

Farm-fresh, unwashed eggs can keep for around 3 months in the refrigerator when stored properly. 🤎

Chick-Inn Express is making a comeback, y’all. 😂🐔

🐔🥚 Chick-Inn Express Update! 🥚🐔

Well, folks, the girls have apparently decided they deserve a vacation. 😂 Between the heat and molting season, egg production has officially gone on strike. We have collected a whopping 7 eggs in the last TWO WEEKS. 🤦🏼‍♀️

So for now, Chick-Inn Express is temporarily low on inventory while the ladies grow their new feathers and wait for Alabama to remember that fall is supposed to exist. 😂 Pray for cooler weather, a quick molt, and for these freeloaders to get back to work!

In happier news, the flock is growing! 🐥❤️

Our four Ameraucana girls officially have names:
🥜 Peanut
🍮 Puddin
🍫 Brownie
🥜 Reesey

And today we added four more little ladies, two Marans and two Legbars! They were immediately subjected to the Chick-Inn Express naming committee because Jacob now insists that every animal on this property requires his personal input. 😂

I contributed Sue and Jean, Brandon picked Charlotte, and Jacob came through with a name none of us could quite understand at first. After several rounds of “What did you say?!” “Say that one more time, please?” we finally determined that our newest little lady is officially Hensey.

🐥 Bobbie Sue
🐥 Billie Jean
🐥 Charlotte
🐥 Hensey, pronounced “Hen-see”, courtesy of Jacob, and no, I have absolutely no idea where he got that one. 😂

They’ll join the big coop in a few more weeks. Once everybody gets through this molt and starts laying normally again, Chick-Inn Express will be back in business! 🥚🐔❤️

🚨🐱 WAIT! BEFORE YOU SCROLL… KITTENS NEED HOMES! 🐱🚨

We have 5 ADORABLE KITTENS ready to find their new homes! ❤️

🐭 Should make excellent little mousers
🎨 Several different colors to choose from
👶 Already used to being around toddlers and all the chaos that comes with them 😂
🏡 Perfect for a family home, farm, or barn

Please share! If you’re interested in giving one of these babies a home, send me a message! 🐱❤️

The girls have apparently decided it is TOO DANG HOT to be working overtime. 😂🐔☀️

They want to lay around the water areas or run through the sprinkler with the toddler to stay cool. 9/10 toddler has a snack and is dropping bits here and there.

Egg production has slowed down quite a bit with this Alabama heat, but the Chick-Inn Express still has 2 dozen farm-fresh eggs ready to go! 🥚❤️

$5/dozen
First come, first served!

And thanks to Ms. Beth for the new sign because I have never felt more accurately represented. 😂
“I don’t have ducks…or a row… I have chickens and they are everywhere.” 🐔🐔🐔

What better way to celebrate Father’s Day than bringing home 4 more little peepers? 🐥😂

Welcome our newest additions to the flock — Ameraucanas! 💙🥚 These sweet little babies will hopefully grow up to give us those beautiful blue and green eggs we all love.

Because apparently around here, “just a few chickens” is a phrase with absolutely no meaning. 😅🐔

Stay tuned to watch these tiny fluff butts grow up! 🤎🐣

The girls have been busy! This basket represents just 3 days’ worth of eggs, even with all the coop improvements, run expansions, and Judy taking a break from laying duties while she sits on a clutch of eggs and dreams of motherhood. ❤️

We will have fresh farm eggs available this week!

🐔🤎 Chick-Inn Express Farm Update! 🤎🐔

Well, it’s been a little while since we’ve checked in, so here’s what’s been happening around the farm!

We’ve spent the past couple of months making improvements for our feathered ladies. The coop and run have been getting some upgrades, expansions, and a little extra TLC to keep everyone happy and comfortable. The girls are also enjoying their brand-new nesting boxes, which have been a huge hit!

In other exciting news… Judy has decided she wants to be a mama! 🥚🐣

She has officially gone broody and is currently sitting on a clutch of eggs. She’s taking her job very seriously and gives us “the look” anytime we get too close. 😆 We can’t wait to see if she ends up with a few little peepers running around behind her in a few weeks!

As always, thank you to everyone who supports our little egg stand. We appreciate every customer, every kind word, and every carton that goes home with your family.

Stay tuned for chick updates, egg updates, and more farm shenanigans from the girls at Chick-Inn Express! 🐔🥚🤎
