We’re dreaming of a future where Fruitless Farm brings people together to learn practical, hands on agriculture. We hope to share accessible skills that fit people’s lives, abilities, space, and land.

We’re considering topics like animal/livestock care, farm tours, gardening and seed starting, quail raising, butchering and processing, beekeeping, and food preservation. We’d love to showcase local farms and professionals to share their knowledge with us.

Whether you’re a student in FFA or 4-H, part of a local group or simply curious about farm life we’d love your input. What would you like to learn? What would be useful to our community? Share below, send us a message here or at [email protected]

Summer went by so quickly, fall needs to slow the heck down. I think we’ll get one more harvest from the garden, then it’ll just be the Brussels sprouts finishing up the growing season. But, I’ve already got hydroponics going indoors 😅

I don’t actually know any of the words, I’ve just heard the rhythm of that song so many times 😂 Mulligan enjoyed a good scratch this evening ❤️

Hi friends! I thought it was time for some more formal introductions. My name is Jillian. I’ve been working with animals for more than 30 years, beginning with an active role in my high school FFA chapter and equestrian team. That early experience grew into a lifelong passion for animals, agriculture, and learning by doing. I went on to earn an associate’s degree in Agricultural Business from SUNY Morrisville and have gained hands-on experience working with dozens of different types of animals, from sheep and quail to horses and beyond.

I’m a professional carriage driving trainer and an active member of the American Driving Society, as well as the North American Babydoll Southdown Sheep Association/Registry and the Harlequin Sheep Society/Registry. I am also a chronic illness and chronic pain advocate. I’ve been dealing with health issues since I was nine and building my life around animals with my own chronic conditions has certainly had its challenges! Oh, I’m also that mom to my two 9 and 11 year old, who comes home to ask ‘any new critters?’

In 2022, Jason and I started Fruitless Farm, turning what was once a backyard dream into our everyday reality. What began as a desire to have a farm of our own has grown into a passion for sustainable, small-scale agriculture and sharing what we’ve learned along the way.

I believe farming doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Whether you have acres of land or a small backyard, there are meaningful ways to grow food, care for animals, and become more connected to where those things come from. I want to help make agriculture practical, approachable, and adaptable to real people and real lives. I hope to create opportunities for people to learn, share, and grow together. For me this is about more than building a farm… it’s about building a community around a willingness to learn, get our hands dirty, and discover what’s possible!

We processed 65 roosters last weekend and I’ve been really happy with the turn around so far. We shrank wrapped and labeled the whole birds for us humans (I am unsure what we have for sale there yet) and then I dehydrated the feet/legs, hearts, lungs and livers for pet treats. They are packaged and heat sealed, and safe to go in the freezer for long term storage.

I threw a few packages out on the farm stand, $8 for 8 feet and $3 for 1.5 ounces of organs. If you want a package, I can set a bag aside for you.

There are also packaged quail eggs. Sorry we’ve been lower on chicken eggs- as the days get shorter, I am adding a light for a few hours at night to boost production.

I haven’t had many veggies out because we’ve been enjoying the fruits of our labor admittedly but this week I’ll be putting out more tomatoes, cukes, lunchbox and maybe some bell peppers. Thanks for the continued support ❤️🍃🐑🐐🐴🦆🐓🍗

huge thanks to Emlyn Clark for her help on processing day!! Couldn’t have done it without you.
