We've been slow to post updates because the grapes have been slow to ripen this year. The vines were 'stressed' by the excessive rainfall in May & June (35 inches in 6 weeks) and so grapes are later than last year. They are enjoying the drier hot weather and are 'getting after it now'. We've begun picking some and this morning I delivered a few boxes to Baker Pic-N-Save. Next Thursday, I expect to make the first delivery to Bailey's Market in Pensacola, and after that, we'll be in full swing adding our other commercial customers as fast as we can. We will picking hard next week and the weekend, so I expect we will have enough (bronze and purples) washed, boxed and in the cooler to support sales here at the vineyard beginning Monday 10 August. The early varieties are Lane (purple) and Hall (bronze). If you plan to drive out it's always best to call and make sure some unforseen circumstances (weather) haven't overruled our schedule.
