At J R Organics, a traditional family farm, quality vegetables and fruit are grown using the finest fertilizers and the latest in organic cultivation. Produce is delivered within 24 hours of harvest for superior flavor and nutritional value. Blackberries are delicate. They need careful harvest timing, gentle handling, and quick packing to preserve quality.

Out in the field, the harvest comes with a few scratches too — blackberry thorns remind us that great food takes work.

Harvested, cooled, packed into clamshells, and brought quickly to market.

Blackberry season runs now through about the middle of August.

The seasons are changing.

Sugar snap peas are on their way out as summer heat moves in. We only have a short window left before warm weather closes the chapter on this cool-season favorite.

At the same time, string bean season is beginning.

Blue Lake, Yellow Wax, Dragon Tongue, and Royal Purple beans are now starting to come in and should carry us through summer and into fall.

That’s seasonal eating in action.
