Yolo Land & Cattle Co.
Established in 1976, Yolo Land & Cattle Co. resulted from the vision of family patriarch Henry H. Stone and his wife Suzanne. The original partnership operated on numerous ranches throughout California and Nevada, until Henry acquired sole interest in 1983. As the geneticist in the family, Henry utilized many types of cattle breeds over the years before settling on a Black Angus & Hereford cross as the optimum range cow. In his retirement, Henry started a successful purebred Angus herd, and managed it until his passing in 2014. His legacy continues in nearly all of the beef produced. His son Scott joined him in 1983, and son Casey joined the operation in 1991.
Scott manages the commercial cattle operation, which produces grass-fed natural Angus beef on multiple ranches. Scott’s wife Karen manages the direct marketing and distribution of the natural grass-fed beef. They also have a successful ag real estate company, California Agricultural Properties, Inc.
Casey manages the specialty food distribution and farming operation, which includes hay for domestic and export markets. His wife Angela coordinates tours and events and for the ranch, and manages website sales and shipping distribution.
All of the Stone children enjoy participating in ranch activities. Scott's son Austin has now joined the operation after spending time working abroad. It has been a blessing to have the children involved in the family business in a lifestyle that is healthy and rewarding.
