It was a fun weekend at the NWODGA show in Salem this year. We brought four does (2 seniors and 2 juniors) and they held their own against some tough competition. I’m proud of my younger animals. They really are beautiful and did well in such a competitive show. Brandy unfortunately is starting to show her age faster than the other does in her age group, which really affects her placings. Brandy will likely retire from showing after this year. I’m thankful for her in being patient enough for me as I’ve learned how to show over the last year.
My little Dove made her debut at this show. I’ve had Dove since January, but shortly after getting her, she got sick. I chose to leave her home and make sure she was 100% and cleared by her doctor before exposing her to the stressful environment of showing. I chose this show for her as well since we were closer to home. She did well and I’m proud of her. Delilah and Vera have been showing with me throughout the season and they’ve been my little show team. I’m happy someone saw the beauty in them like I do. Our show season is a wrap for 2026 as we now focus on prepping for LA. Congratulations to Be Well Farmstead & Little RedHouse Farm on their big wins and to my friend Solar Flare Farm on your first show. ❤️

Long post ahead…

Our first time at the The Udder Spectacular in Monroe, WA was a good time! One million thank yous to .harman1 for not only going to help me, but even jumping into the ring to help me show. Best husband ever. 💯 Also big thank yous to my family and friends at home holding down the fort while we were gone to take care of our daughter and other animals- my mom, , & the Alumbaugh family with Silly Springs Nigerian Dwarf Goats.

Pretty went up against the other breeds who won grand champion junior to BEST IN SHOW under Judge Kelcie in ring 3 and came out on top with BEST IN SHOW! 🤯

Our fourth show ever. Bringing our first rosettes home… and on a doe we produced ourselves. 🤩 Pretty is young doe who was an out of a no name registered doe (and not very pretty) and sire by a nice Leisure Time buck. My little science experiment to see if we could make some improvements and here 👏🏻 we 👏🏻 are 👏🏻’!

Thank you to the folks who put on a great show that ran smoothly and thanks to the judges for traveling so far to see our goaties in the PNW. 🌲

Gillis Family Farm BondN Baile X Four Cedar JD Gentleman Jack gave me buck twins on Mother’s Day.

This was Bailey’s 4th freshening and she FINALLY gave me something more than a single, unfortunately no does for me. 😕

The lighter chocolate boy was backwards and back legs down. I felt his hocks through the sac and knew there was no way she’d be able to get him out in that position. I popped the sac, proceeded to find his back hooves, brought them up and out. After that it was gentle pulls during pushes until he was born.

The darker boy was a one leg back situation (no big deal). So I just helped get him out since Bailey was clearly tired after the ordeal with the first boy.

This wraps up our kidding season for 2026. Woo hoo! 🎉
