Jalapeno- made some yeast bread. Rolled it out like I do for cinnamon rolls. spread on a butter/bacon fat mixture. Topped it with cheese, sliced jalapeno & cooked bacon. & because it was fresh bread right out of the oven. I did what I always do & didn't wait for it to cool & dug right in. Yum! I may add some fresh chives to the mix next time. I have this old cook book my momma gave me years ago when I was starting out. It was from the county extension & had lots of thrifty/budget recipes. The reason I bring this up now is cause in that book there was a recipe I believe it used biscuit dough & you would "roll up" some tuna and maybe some pickles & cut it the same way. There was a cream sauce to add to the top. Come to think of it I haven't made that in many many years. Well, decades I suppose

Growin' up I was always told that hornets will build their nest as high as the amount of snow we will get for wint-ah'. I have since told my children & now my grandchildren the same thing. I am gonna have to keep track of such things to see if it is just bull-hookie or good ol' fashioned smarts.

I had been mean-in' ta get around ta reglaze-in' the little chicken coop windows for...well a year. I got the windows down, gathered materials, scraped off the old glaze & points, cleaned up the panes, set new points & started glazin' till I ran out. Looks like another trip up ta town. I am reminded of the time I "borrowed" my older sisters baton with out her knowin' bout it. I was havin' a grand ol' time tossin & spin-in' it up as high as I could. Welp, I didn't really know what I was doin' & tossed it a bit too far right into the window pane on the hall door. Ooops! I think that window got covered up with some wood or cardboard for a time till my dad could repair it. I can remember him setting the little sharp metal things & workin' the putty & smoothing it out with a putty knife. It's funny how as you get older little memories sneak up.
