We’re deeply saddened by the passing of Wendell Berry.
He spent a lifetime reminding us that the health of the land, the health of our communities, and the health of our food system are inseparable. He challenged us to care for the soil beneath our feet, to know our neighbors, to value farmers, and to resist systems that ask us to sacrifice the future for convenience today.
At Hummingbird, so much of what we believe echoes in his work: care for the land, support the people who steward it, build local, resilient food systems. Leave something better behind.
Thank you, Wendell, for inspiring us and putting words to what so many of us are working toward.
The work continues.
