The cold spring set everything back a solid month but the cattle are finally here! We can’t express enough how grateful we are to work with an amazing rancher in our community (11 years running!) We get steers and heifers from her each spring to finish on our pastures through the season, as our pastures aren’t well suited for overwintering a breeding herd.
It’s one of many reasons why working together makes more sense than trying to do it all.

, When it’s good it’s great, when it’s bad it really sucks. Thankfully after a bumpy start to lambing season we’ve hit our stride and things are going much better. Just a couple more ewes still to lamb. Look at how cute this little guy is.
