Food For Lane County Youth Farm

The FFLC Youth Farm is a 5 acre urban educational farm and a work experience site for youth.

The Youth Farm is a 25 acre educational food bank farm, a work and leadership experience site for youth and young adults and has volunteer and learning oppirtunities for everyone! Each year, community volunteers assist staff in growing over 100,000 pounds of organic produce, learning while growing. Each summer, a crew of teens works at the farm where they receive job skills and training in gardening, leadership, financial management and nutrition while growing food for FFLC and for a 120+ member Community Supported Agriculture Program and two produce stands.

October means winter squash!

Winter Squash and Pumpkins are in from the field.
We had a good ol' squash toss; fun in the late September sun.

Pumpkins for carving and eatting, delicata, acorn, butternut and more are available at the farm stand.

At our farm stans every Saturday, now through mid November, 10am - 2pm

The CSA family-size box was so beautiful this morning, I had to do a quick photo shoot, though it’s missing the cantalope! You’ll find this beautiful produce and more at our produce stand open Saturdays, 10-2 through mid- November! And tomorrow, 9/12 is our Youth Farm Fest— live music, kids activities, c***r tastings, farm tours, and produce for sale. Hope to see you!

Join us at the annual Youth Farm Fest at our new location on Seavey Loop Rd! This Saturday, 9/12 from 10am-2pm, rain or shine (TBH, were hoping for more shine than rain!). Farm tours, apple c***r tasting, kids crafts, free PYO flower bouquets and our produce stand! Also enjoy music by the incomparable, danceable and local talented musicians Brothers-In-Law (10-11:30) and Corwin Bolt and the Wing Nuts (12-1:30). And our friends at Happy Go Lucky Crepes will be selling savory and sweet crepes! Full menu in comments!

Big potato harvest today, and not just the whopper in Ashtyn’s hand! On their very first day in May, the youth farmers planted these very potatoes. We love that they get to experience the harvest as well. Full circle!

Youth and staff shared in a great potluck All the dishes featured a fruit or veg from the farm. We are lucky to have a crew with great taste and talent.

Do you love tomatoes? We sure do. And good thing, because our greenhouses are bursting at the seams with tomatoes!

Heirlooms, slicers, romas and cherries.
Reds, greens, yellows, purples, and oranges.

The summer has been full of food and learning. At this point in the season most of the farming is routine, even for the green crew. (Starting to not be quite so green)
Plant, w**d, harvest, process, repeat.

Our CSA is about half way through. We hope you have all been enjoying the colors and flavors of summer.

And even our new orchard has gotten some extra tending to by the crew.
