Closed out the season with my man, Caiden Long. Hard to believe it’s been 11 years in the woods with you. I had to go back in time to be reminded of where it all started. It all started, amidst of you battling cancer. At that time, I had no idea what was in store for the future so we made the most of the present. Fast forward 11 years, you are a healthy, thriving young man…..thanks to our loving and healing God. Unc loves you buddy and can’t wait to do it again next season!

As I eased the trigger back, I recalled the many memories I had from the deer stand as a little hunter. Together, we have hunted hard this season and have seen a lot of deer, but not the right one. Through this, he has developed a love for hunting. We have learned patience, QUIETNESS, dedication, perseverance and respect for Gods creation. This was it, the moment we have been hunting for!
After the shot, I looked over and the grin on his face was one I can’t recall ever seeing. He said, “Daddy we did it, We finally got a buck deer!” This was the time, the memory and blessing I had dreamed of long before my little sidekick was even born. It’s not about the deer, it’s all about the time we spent together, the lessons learned and ultimately the unforgettable memory!
