They weren't kidding when they named this one "Autumn Blaze"! Now we need something that changes to a bright yellow. What cold hardy deciduous trees do you recommend? Also, must survive in deer country (this one was fenced for the last two years).

These are seriously my favorite melons to grow! Everyone mistakes them for an ugly squash 🤣 tastes very similar to cantaloupe. Zone 5a! What zone are you growing in? What weird thing do you grow?

I really hope this bill passes. It would make life so much easier!

Mandatory labeling of barley and rye on food labels—same as wheat is now! Probably, all of us in the gluten-free community agree that barley and rye should be added to the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA). The Celiac Safety Act of 2026 currently has 51 cosponsors. You can track the progress of this bill and contact your member of Congress to provide feedback by clicking on “contact your member” at https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/9048

Is it a weekend of fun, work, or both for your house? It's soccer, to-do list, and rest around here.

The bears have been extra active in our area this year. Hoping our electric fence is enough. Three coops in our neighborhood have been damaged and/or had chickens killed this week.

A radio-collared male grizzly had tried to access attractants in an outbuilding before the Oct. 1 shooting; the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is investigating.
